Walgreens robbed of painkillers

A man displaying a threatening note robbed a Walgreens pharmacy of painkillers early Thursday, police said.

Officers were called to the 24-hour drugstore at 6201 Stellhorn Road about 1:08 a.m.

The man came in, approached the pharmacy counter and presented a note demanding methadone and fentanyl. After receiving an undisclosed amount of the drugs, he fled on foot, police said.

Though the threat of harm was made, the man did not show a weapon and no injuries were reported, police said.

The man was described as 6 feet tall, white, in his 20s and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He had brown hair and was last seen wearing a black Carhartt jacket with a light blue hooded-sweatshirt under the jacket, and blue jeans.
