•The Healthy Cities Health Fair and Veterans’ Stand Down is from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic, 413 E. Jefferson St. A coat giveaway is also part of the event.

•The Fort Wayne office of the Arthritis Foundation has moved to 3882 New Vision Drive. There will be an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Awards/recognition

Jack Dyer, president of the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne board of directors, was awarded the Carl D. Rolfsen Stewardship Award by the Foellinger Foundation for his commitment, dedication and servant leadership to the club. Because of the award, the Boys and Girls Club will receive a $10,000 grant for operating support and $7,000 for board governance training.

Fancheon Resler of Albion won first place for her recipe “Grandma Fulford’s Elderberry Apple Pie” in the Greater Midwest Foodways annual Heirloom Recipe competition at the Indiana State Fair.
