Adams Central, Norwell on top

Adams Central and Norwell won their respective divisions in a marching band contest Saturday at Homestead High School.

Those schools and others competed in the Homestead Fall Festival of Bands.

According to IndianaMarching.com, in Class D, Adams Central was first, Eastside was third, Bluffton was fifth and Hicksville, Ohio, was sixth. Adams Central won caption awards for music and visual.

In Class C, Norwell was first, Concordia Lutheran was second, Heritage was fourth, Garrett was fifth and Wawasee was sixth. Norwell won caption awards for music and visual. Norwell and Concordia tied for general effect.

In Class B, Elkhart Memorial was first, Columbia City was fourth, Bishop Dwenger fifth and New Haven sixth.

In Class A, Penn was first, Carroll was second, Snider was fifth, Northrop was sixth, Warsaw was seventh and Huntington North eighth.

Host Homestead played in exhibition.

Norwell takes 1st at Panther Parade

Norwell was also grand champion at the Mighty Panther Parade of Champions at Wayne High School.

In Class C, Norwell was first, Angola was second, Woodlan was fourth, Leo was fifth and Heritage was sixth. Norwell won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.

In Class B, North Side was first, East Noble was second, Columbia City was third, Wayne was fourth and South Side was fifth.

North Side won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.

Bluffton was the only school to compete in Class D.

Host Snider High School played in exhibition.
