McGill reaches milestone

Senior libero Tessa McGill became the second player in IPFW women's volleyball history to reach 2,000 career digs when she had 24 in the Mastodons' 3-1 victory over Western Illinois on Monday at the Gates Center.

McGill has 2,014 career digs -- second behind Peachy Jankowski's 2,253, set in 2004-07.

The win was the eighth straight for the Mastodons (17-3), who won 27-25, 18-25, 25-15 and 25-22. Emily Spencer led the offense with 20 kills. Behind her were Haley Emenhiser with 11 and Jessie Manwaring with 10.

IPFW will again play at 7 p.m. Friday when it plays host to Oakland.
