Car towed after Steuben hit-skip

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department is seeking tips from the public regarding a hit-and-run crash that occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

A vehicle ran off County Road 660 North, west of Van Guilder Road, and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Witnesses reported that before officers arrived, a truck towed a gold or tan Chevrolet Lumina from the scene.

Anybody with information about the crash is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 668-1000 or Steuben County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-600-4258.
