The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department has narrowed down the kind of car involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Evidence recovered at the scene indicated the vehicle was a 2005 Buick LeSabre four-door, the department said in a statement issued Tuesday.
The car ran off County Road 660 North, west of Van Guilder Road, and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Witnesses reported that before officers arrived, a truck towed a gold or tan car from the scene.
Anybody with information about the crash is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 260-668-1000 or Steuben County Crime Stoppers at 800-600-4258.
