Michelle Davies captured this image of a Blue Clipper butterfly Tuesday at the Botanical Conservatory in Fort Wayne.Yesterday I planted a fall garden with the mustard greens, Swiss chard and broccoli I started by seed in August.
The broccoli plants have been ravaged by cabbage worms, but new leaves are sprouting so they should have a comeback.
I expect to be able harvest the greens this season, but I don't think the broccoli is going to make it in time. I have been told that if I cover the broccoli with some clear plastic on hoops, it will take off next year and produce a spring harvest.
