Motorcyclist dies from August injuries

An Arkansas motorcyclist who crashed in Fort Wayne Aug. 29 has died from his injuries, the Allen County Coroner's Office said today.

Glenn R. Howerton, 60, of Eureka Springs, Ark., died Wednesday. He is the 31st traffic fatality of Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2012, the coroner's office said in a statement.

Howerton and a passenger, Joy Howerton, 56, initially were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center following the crash on southbound Interstate 69 near the northern Interstate 469 junction.

He had been transferred to a local rehabilitation facility, the coroner's office said, and was admitted to Lutheran Hospital after suffering further complications.

Police have said they believe Howerton lost control of the motorcycle while getting on the ramp to go east on Interstate 469.
