FORT WAYNE – Leo and Bishop Dwenger advanced to the final of the Class 2A East Noble girls soccer regional.
The Lions went to penalty kicks to beat Homestead 2-1 in one semifinal. The teams played to a 1-all tie, with Leo advancing on penalty kicks 5-4. Emily Hemmelgarn scored Leo’s goal in regulation. Erica Ruhl had the game-winning penalty kick.
Bishop Dwenger defeated Norwell 4-0. Kellee O’Shaughnessy scored all four goals for the Saints.
The championship is 1 p.m. Saturday.
GOSHEN REGIONAL: Meredith Hollar and Gabby Monroy both had one goal and one assist as Warsaw defeated Penn 2-1 in a Goshen Regional semifinal. Monroy scored the go-ahead goal in the 54th minute. The Tigers face South Bend St. Joseph in the championship at 7 p.m. Saturday.
ADAMS CENTRAL 3, NORTH SIDE 1: Bess Fiechter had 16 kills for the Jets in a road victory. The scores were 23-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-13.
CARROLL 12, NORTHROP 3: Reid Worden, Garrett Leeper and Logan Gottschalk scored twice for the Chargers.
HOMESTEAD 7, BISHOP DWENGER 0: Jay Conkling had three goals for the Spartans. Paul Lee added two goals in the win.
LEO 4, SNIDER 1: Cole Meyer made 29 saves for the Lions.
