Scouting report: This could be one of the better small-college games in the Midwest. Trine is on a three-game winning streak, and Adrian has won four in a row. The Thunder jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first 2:09 of the game to defeat Albion 27-22 last Saturday. Quarterback Ryan Hargraves took off on an 83-yard touchdown run the second play of the game, and then defensive back Myron Puryear returned a fumble 79 yards for a score. Hargraves is on a serious passing streak. In Trine’s three-game winning string, he’s completed 40 of 55 passes for 576 yards. … Adrian hasn’t given up a touchdown in its last two games, having beaten Alma last week 27-3 and 24-0 over Hope the week before. The Bulldogs average 369 yards in total offense. Their opponents an average of 222. Kyle Smock is the leading rusher with an average of 92 yards per game.
