Top 3 defensive players: LB Justin Juarez, 42 tackles, 4 TFL; LB Brody Kalbaugh, 36 tackles, 1 TFL; S Taylor Brown, 32 tackles, 1 interception

Keys to victory: Without starting quarterback Josh Miller, who is out with a high ankle sprain suffered last week at Saint Xavier, Saint Francis will have to establish a running game, which won’t be easy against the NAIA’s top-ranked defense (206.8 yards per game). The Knights’ 61.8 defensive average against the run is third. Miller’s ability to run the option confused Saint Xavier. Yoder is more of a drop-back passer, which sets up Marian’s aggressive scheme.

Injuries: QB Josh Miller (ankle), questionable; WR Colin Harruff (undisclosed), out

Marian

Top 3 defensive players: DL Seth Vondersaar, 28 tackles, 7 TFL; LB Dan Brunke, 26 tackles, 6 TFL; Robert Palmer, 22 tackles, 2 TFL

Keys to victory: In last season’s 40-13 victory over Saint Francis, Marian tailback Tevin Lake tore through the Saint Francis defense for 144 yards and two touchdowns. The Cougars helped along the way, with two passes being intercepted and losing a fumble. Saint Francis can’t allow Lake or turnovers to dictate the game. Additionally, Saint Francis misfired on 20 passes last season, and its leading rusher, Antoin Campbell, was held to 39 yards in 15 carries.

Injuries: None reported
