K's looking much better

With the caveat that they are playing the Evansville IceMen, another (ex-)CHL team, the Komets look much better tonight.

They lead 3-0 in the first period at the Ford Center in Evansville.

Eric Giosa scored on a power play, blazing in to put the rebound of a Tyler Butler shot into the net. Chris Auger scored, thanks to a Brent Henley blind, backhand pass from behind the Evansville net. And Giosa scored on a short-handed breakaway.

Fort Wayne had eight of the first 10 shots.

There was also a fight between Dan Nycholat and Cody Beach, which Beach won.

Kenny Reiter in net for the Komets.
