Snider completes perfect regular season

For the first time since 2005, Snider completed the regular season undefeated.

The SAC champion Panthers (9-0) rushed for 354 yards on 45 carries while holding Wayne (1-8, 0-7) to 20 yards on the ground in their 34-3 road victory Friday.

Je’norie Smith ran for 99 yards and a touchdown and Tyrell Swain added 90 more. Quarterback Brandon Phelps, whose 26-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Daniels got the Panthers on the scoreboard in the first quarter, also threw for 103 yards.

Phelps also added an 18-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Snider, which went 12-1 in 2005, will face undefeated Homestead (9-0) in next week’s Class 5A sectional.

Josh Spitnale added two field goals for the Panthers, including a 47-yarder in the fourth quarter.

BISHOP LUERS 58, BISHOP DWENGER 21: The Knights (6-3, 6-1 SAC) stormed to a 42-7 halftime lead and cruised in its home win over the Saints (3-6, 3-4).

Jaylon Smith and Jaquale Cooper had two rushing touchdowns each for the Knights.

Smith scored on runs of 15 and 27 yards, and Cooper had scores of 8 and 6.

NORTH SIDE 48, NORTHROP 27: C.J. Jackson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another for the host Redskins (7-2, 5-2) in their SAC win over the Bruins (4-5, 3-4).

North Side broke from a 14-13 game with two touchdowns in the second quarter and another in the third.

BREBEUF 46, CONCORDIA 22: Michael Hicks had 108 rushing yards, including a 40-yard touchdown run, for host Concordia (2-7).

Quarterback David Morrison threw for 233 yards and a touchdown for the Cadets.

SOUTH SIDE 75, GARY WALLACE 6: Aaron Thomas scored five touchdowns for the visiting Archers (3-6). Devin Jones added 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

ANGOLA 58, CENTRAL NOBLE 12: Austin Bauer ran for 228 yards and four touchdowns, and added another touchdown on a 58-yard punt return as the Hornets (3-6, 3-5 NECC) won at Central Noble (0-9, 0-8).

CARROLL 63, DEKALB 11: Jimmy Crumley ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Chris Terry passed for three scores as the host Chargers topped the Barons.

Carroll (7-2, 5-2 NHC) led the Barons (2-7, 1-6) at halftime, 49-0.

COLUMBIA CITY 26, NORWELL 6: Quarterback Travis Herbst threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns as the visiting Eagles (4-5, 3-4) topped the Knights (0-9, 0-7).

Both touchdown receptions by the Eagles came from Justin Bachelder, who caught TD passes of 76 and 49 yards from Herbst.

WOODLAN 48, ADAMS CENTRAL 34: Jaylin Bennett had 181 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the host Warriors (3-6, 2-4) in its ACAC win over the Flying Jets (5-4, 2-4).

FREMONT 27, WEST NOBLE 26: Nate Beatty ran for 136 yards, had two touchdown runs and added a TD reception to lead host Fremont (4-5, 3-5 NECC) past the Chargers (1-8, 1-7). Erik Mawhorter had 144 rushing yards and four total touchdowns for West Noble.

SOUTH ADAMS 17, SOUTHERN WELLS 14: Tyler Brackin’s 22-yard field goal with 1:32 remaining in the game lifted the Starfires (2-7) past the host Raiders (2-7).

TIPPECANOE VALLEY 55, WHITKO 14: Justin Gunter ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns, and Ben Shriver threw for 261 yards and three scores as the host Vikings (7-2, 6-1 TRC) topped the Wildcats (3-6, 3-4).

CONCORD 34, WARSAW 9: The host Warsaw Tigers (6-3, 5-2) missed their opportunity to gain a share of the Northern Lakes Conference title. Warsaw took a 7-0 lead, but offensively could only manage a third-quarter safety.
