The Journal Gazette Foundation recently approved the following grants:

YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne: $15,000 for the construction of a YMCA facility in Bluffton

Fort Wayne Philharmonic: $5,000 to present young people concerts to over 5,000 area students at Embassy Theatre

New American Youth Ballet and Conservatory: $2,000 to assist the agency in its production of “The Nutcracker” to be presented at the University of Saint Francis theatre for area youth agencies

Allen County Bar Foundation: $1,500 to support the “We the People” competition for our congressional district; funds will be used for a pizza lunch for the participants and judges

United Way of Allen County: $18,750, the third of four payments for the 2012 pledge of $75,000

Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne: $2,500, the third of four payments for the 2012 pledge of $10,000

Science Central: $25,000, the first of two payments of $25,000 to support the “Science On A Sphere” campaign; grant was originally approved in 2011 contingent on a successful fundraising campaign that was recently completed.
