Sunday wind gusts hit 47 mph

Sunday was one windy day, with winds speeds clocked at 31 mph in Fort Wayne and gusts up to 47 mph, according to the National Weather Service in northern Indiana.

Communities in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio saw high winds, particularly later in the day, with the most powerful blasts hitting the Summit City shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Around the region:

  • Warsaw had wind speeds of 29 mph and gusts up to 43 mph.
  • Auburn had wind speeds of 22 mph and gusts up to 41 mph.
  • Defiance, Ohio, had wind speeds of 24 mph and gusts up to 39 mph.
