Carbaugh gets help

GOP governor frontrunner Mike Pence is lending his name to a local Statehoue candidate today in Fort Wayne.

He will rally with Martin Carbaugh, who is hoping to defeat veteran Democrat Rep. Win Moses in House District 81.

The event will be at 5:30 p.m. today at the Allen County GOP Headquarters, 135 W. Main St.

Carbaugh, 32, is a lifelong Fort Wayne resident financial services consultant. He has regularly been involved in GOP politics in the area, including as a precinct committeeman.

He decided to run when the districts were redrawn and he suddenly had a Democrat representing him.

"I certainly take nothing for granted," Carbaugh said. "(Win) is a very personable guy. I've only met him because of this campaign. Nice guy. I don't go door-to-door saying what a bad guy he is or anything. We just disagree philosophically."
