Beyonce to sing at halftime

All the single ladies will be watching the upcoming Super Bowl along with football lovers. That’s because Beyonce is the halftime show performer.

A source familiar with the Super Bowl told The Associated Press the Grammy-winning diva will take the stage at the halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The official announcement is expected today.

Bynes: ‘Not guilty’

Amanda Bynes has pleaded not guilty to two counts of driving on a suspended license.

The 26-year-old’s car was impounded at the Bob Hope Airport in September and she was charged with the misdemeanor counts days later.

The incident came after Bynes was charged in separate driving under the influence and hit-and-run cases. She has pleaded not guilty in those cases, but her license was suspended and a judge ordered her to stop driving until it’s re-instated.

John recalls teen

Elton John remembered AIDS sufferer Ryan White on the red carpet of his annual AIDS foundation benefit.

It’s been more than 20 years since the Indiana teenager died of the disease after contracting it though a blood transfusion, but the singer said Monday that it was a turning point in his life, which was “out of whack.”

It made him begin thinking about starting a foundation and “giving something back and making up for lost time.”

Established in 1992, the Elton John AIDS Foundation continues its global humanitarian efforts to help raise money for a variety of services for HIV/AIDS.

Singer’s wife dies

Folk singer Arlo Guthrie has announced the death of his wife, Jackie, at age 68.

An obituary released by Guthrie’s record label says Jackie Guthrie had inoperable cancer and died Sunday at the couple’s winter home in Sebastian, Fla. They had recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.
