The TinCaps will host their third Stitch ’n Pitch event next month, but this time they’re encouraging needle artists to contribute to a breast cancer awareness scarf that is more than a mile long and growing – and will be displayed in Fort WayneSANTA CLAUS – An image of a smiling Santa saying “Hello from Santa Claus Station” will be the special picture postmark for the town’s post office this December.
Cassie Fischer, an Indiana University-Southeast graphic design student, drew the image for the post office in the town about 35 miles northeast of Evansville that claims to be the only post office in the world with the Santa Claus name. It stamps a picture postmark on the more than 400,000 pieces of mail it receives each December.
Mail to be sent from the station should be packaged in a sturdy envelope or box with postage already affixed.
