SANTA CLAUS – An image of a smiling Santa saying Hello from Santa Claus Station will be the special picture postmark for the towns post office this December.
Cassie Fischer, an Indiana University-Southeast graphic design student, drew the image for the post office in the town about 35 miles northeast of Evansville that claims to be the only post office in the world with the Santa Claus name. It stamps a picture postmark on the more than 400,000 pieces of mail it receives each December.
Mail to be sent from the station should be packaged in a sturdy envelope or box with postage already affixed.
