Ice Chips

  • Looks almost official
Center Thomas Frazee posted on his twitter account he will play for the Komets this season.
  • Next great local hockey star?
Karch Bachman is on track to a professional career in hockey. Possibly one in the NHL. It'll be fun to follow his development.
  • A possible new Komet
No official word yet, but I'm hearing that the Komets may be completing a deal with Thomas Frazee, who had 24 goals and 47 points in 60 games last season with Quad City of the CHL.

On the scoreboard

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- There's no doubt that the new scoreboard at Wings Stadium, which was unveiled tonight, is an improvement.

But this thing is so big and low to the ice, the puck is going to hit it way more often than a punt ever hit the board at Cowboys Stadium.

Plus, I'm almost positive this thing is crooked, but I would hope they will fix that.

The Komets had a goal taken away midway through the first when it was ruled that Josh Brittain interference with the goalie before Eric Giosa put the puck into the net. It was a bad call.

So it's scoreless in the first.
