Officers use stun gun on burglar

Officers used a stun gun to subdue a man caught burglarizing a north-side video store early Thursday, Fort Wayne police said.

About 2:10 a.m., a man reported hearing an alarm and seeing movement inside Family Video at 902 Goshen Ave., near Sherman Boulevard, said officer Raquel Foster, a police spokeswoman.

Police arrived and could see the man in the store carrying several DVDs. When he came outside, he resisted and was jolted with a Taser before being arrested, Foster said.

The man, identified as David Jewell, 24, was booked into the Allen County Lockup on a felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. He was being held without bond.
