The DeKalb County 9-12 Group will have a freedom of religion rally at 1 p.m. today at the National Military History Center, 5634 County Road 11A, Auburn.

A Baby’s Closet of Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County will have a communitywide baby shower this month. Collection sites are at all Peerless Cleaners and YMCA locations in Allen County. There will be a celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 at DeBrand Fine Chocolates, 10105 Auburn Park Drive. Everyone who brings a baby item to donate will receive a piece of chocolate.

Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., will have a potluck luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by singing by the church’s Chancel Choir at 1 p.m.

St. Michael Lutheran, 2131 Getz Road, will have its first worship services in its new sanctuary at 5 p.m. Oct. 27, 8 and 10:45 a.m. Oct. 28 and 7 p.m. Oct. 29.

Lifetree Café will have a discussion on divine intervention, “Does God Have a Plan for You?: One Woman’s Quest to Save 300 Babies,” from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at New Ground Coffee Company, 5925 N. Clinton St; and from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ossian Presbyterian Church, 123 S. Jefferson St., Ossian. The event will include a filmed interview with an Operation Baby Lift volunteer who helped save at-risk babies from orphanages in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
