The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and JELD-WEN on Tuesday announced a voluntary recall of JELD-WEN and Reliabilt Interior Bifold Doors.
About 170,800 units have been recalled because the lower pivot pin can break, causing the door to disengage from the overhead track, the announcement said.
A dozen cases have been reported, including three with minor injuries, the recall said.
The doors were sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s and other building products retailers between February 2011 and March 2012 for between $40 and $80.
Consumers are urged to stop using the doors immediately and contact JELD-WEN for assistance in getting free replacement hardware and technical assistance. Call JELD-WEN toll-free at 877-228-4888 or go to the online product safety page at: www.jeld-wen.com/newhardware for more information.
