This is a very worthwhile book for any knitter.

Waist shaping two ways - with decreases/increases and ribbing. Both lovely and useful by turns.

While general instructions are given for each sweater, specific styles are also explored.

How do I love this book? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height measurements you have laid out so clearly.

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight, only so far without your help.

For the ends of Being and ideal fit.

I love thee to the level of everyday's

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light, and the glow of my television.

I love thee freely, as knitters strive for gauge;

I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with a passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost needles, --- I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if I choose,

I shall but love thee better after finishing this sweater.

- (with apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning)

The Knitter's Handy Book of Top-Down sweaters is available as a hardback (with a great binding that lies flat!) and an ebook. The ebook has a few little extra things in it that they couldn't fit into the print edition, and Ann wrote about it in her blog.

Child sizes start at 26 inches for the chest and adult sweaters go from 36 inches to 54 inches, with 8 sizes in-between. The instructions are clear and the photographs are stunning.

I haven't seen the digital book yet, but I hear it's very good. Either one is worth a look. (The ebook has a 30-day return policy, so what do you have to lose?) As of this writing, the paper book is backordered anyway, so if you want to get your hands on this book soon, the ebook is the way to go.
