INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Excise Police report they arrested 21 people near Purdue University and another 21 people near Ball State University as part of its effort to crack down on underage drinking.
Excise police say they arrested 21 people on 34 charges Saturday near Ball State and cited one business while patrolling Muncie. Seventeen minors were charged with illegal possession of alcohol, minor transporting alcohol, operating while intoxicated, possession of false ID, minor in tavern, open container violation and various traffic offenses. Four adults were charged with furnishing alcohol to minors and traffic violations.
In West Lafayette, 19 minors where charged Friday night with illegal possession or consumption of alcohol, most at them at an apartment near Purdue. Officers also charged two adults with aiding or inducing a minor to possess alcohol.
