Senate candidates plan stops in Decatur, Fort Wayne

U.S. Senate candidates Joe Donnelly and Richard Mourdock will campaign Wednesday in northeast Indiana.

Rep. Donnelly, D-2nd, will visit Decatur as part of the Democratic Party’s “Workhorse Bus Tour.” He will be joined by gubernatorial candidate John Gregg andstate Sen. Vi Simpson of Bloomington, the party’s candidate for lieutenant governor.

They will be at West End Restaurant, 702 W. Monroe St., Decatur, from noon to 12:30 p.m. after stops in Hartford City and Portland.

Republican state Treasurer Mourdock is scheduled to speak to the Fort Wayne Business Forum luncheon, which will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Wayne Country Club, 5221 Covington Road.

Mourdock is also scheduled to speak Tuesday evening at the Allen County Republican Party’s annual Bean Dinner at Ceruti’s Summit Park in northwest Fort Wayne. GOP gubernatorial candidate Rep. Mike Pence, R-6th, and Rep. Marlin Stutzman, who seeks re-election to the U.S. House in Indiana’s 3rd District, are the other featured speakers at the dinner.
