A 41-year-old man who was involved in a fight at a south-side bar early Sunday morning died of multiple stab wounds, according to the Allen County coroner's office.
The death was ruled a homicide and the victim was identified as Reynaldo Morales of Fort Wayne.
According to a police report, officers were called to the Dugout Bar at Fairfield and Kinsmoor avenues around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a stabbing was reported.
They found Morales lying on the sidewalk near the rear door of the bar. He appeared to have severe injuries resulting from stab wounds, police said.
Witnesses said there had been a fight inside the bar involving several people. The victim was one of the people in the fight, police said.
The fight was broken up by other bar patrons, witnesses said. Management decided to close for the night and asked everyone to leave.
The fight then continued outside, where the victim was severely wounded. The adult male suspected in the attack fled the scene, police said.
