Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson was named the independent offensive player of the week for the second time in a row, and the Irish announced the start time for the men's basketball season opener today.
Golson, who has been named the independent offensive player of the week three times this season, led the No. 4 Irish back from a 14-point deficit in Saturday's 29-26 triple-overtime win over Pittsburgh.
Golson threw for 227 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and he ran for 74 yards. He scored on a two-point conversion to send the game into overtime and scored the winning touchdown on a one-yard run in the third overtime.
Notre Dame's men's basketball team will tip off at 2 p.m. Saturday against Evansville in Purcell Pavilion. It is the season opener for the No. 22 Irish.
The football team is scheduled to play at Boston College at 8 p.m. Saturday.
