TOLEDO, Ohio -- The wildest thing about this morning game is the noise. I heard the loudest shriek I have ever heard in my life from the kids, and I've covered four Super Bowls, Indy 500, been to Stanley Cup and NBA Finals, etc.
Also, the kids don't cheer or groan at the usual times in the game, so it's just odd all around.
My general feeling on this is: A morning game in Fort Wayne would be awesome, but having to drive for one is rough.
The Komets and Toledo Walleye are tied at 1 after one period.
Jean-Michel Rizk has scored for the third straight game, on a power play, by putting the rebound of a Daniel Maggio shot into the net. For Toledo, Luke Glendening scored on a redirection.
There's been a lot more energy and hitting than I would have expected for the time of day.
