Officers injured when cruisers crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in central Ohio say two officers have been hospitalized after crashing their cruisers into each other while responding to an emergency call.

Columbus police say the cruisers collided on the north side of the city Tuesday night as the officers were responding to provide backup for a report of a robbery and shooting. One was traveling north and the other was traveling west when the two hit.

The agency did not name the officers. Media reports said one of the officers was in serious condition and the other had some broken bones.
