Grace

Coach: Scott Blum, 9th season

2011-12 record: 20-15

Top returnees: G Juaneice Jackson, F Emily Bidwell, F Allison Kauffman, G Jayla Starks

Season outlook: Grace didn’t have that one, standout scorer last season. Keira Gray averaged 11 points and Danielle Boykin averaged 10.3, and both are gone. But the Lancers had three others who averaged 8.0 points or more, led by Juaneice Jackson’s 9.9. Starting guard Jayla Starks returns with her 3.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Emily Bidwell, former Blackhawk Christian standout Allison Kauffman and Rianne Aguilar all saw significant action last season and will return.

Huntington

Coach: Lori Culler, 27th season

2011-12 record: 20-11

Top returnees: G Sarah Miller-Jennings, G Pazia Speed, G Lauren Meese, G Allison Greene

Season outlook: Miller-Jennings suffered a season-ending injury in the first game last year and returns. In the 2010-11 season, she averaged 16.3 points. The Foresters are already guard-heavy with the return of Pazia Speed (11.8 points), Allison Greene (11.5) and Lauren Meese (8.4), all of whom started last year. Forward Taylor Foley will be asked to provide leadership underneath, while Courtney Baker also returns.

IndianaTech

Coach: Jessie Biggs, 1st season

2011-12 record: 14-17

Top returnees: F Simone Russell, G Ulyssia Richmond, G Keona Bruen, F Bryn Schlatter

Season outlook: First-year coach Jessie Biggs takes over a program that won its first give games last season, but had just one two-game winning streak the rest of the year. Simone Russell, a 5-11 senior, is the top returnee with a scoring average of 10.8 and averaged 4.7 rebounds. She’ll be backed by junior guard Ulyssia Richmond, who averaged 9.9 points, and senior guard Keona Bruen, who averaged 8.9 points. Bryn Schlatter, who started 12 games, also returns, as does Kiley Camp.

Manchester

Coach: Josh Dzurick, seventh season

2011-12 record: 17-9

Top returnees: F Erynn Meiklejohn, G Jaimie Childress, G Jocelyn Hamilton

Season outlook:Manchesterlost three starters from last year’s team, but return leading scorer Meiklejohn, the 5-11 former Concordia standout who averaged 9.5 points and 4. 1 rebounds.Hamiltonis back at point guard. She averaged 3.6 points and 3.7 assists last season, and Childress returns with a 4.2 scoring average and 2.3 rebounds. Abby Lang, Janelle Moss and Alyssa Hammond are also back.

Trine

Coach: Steve Mix, 1st season

2011-12 record: 11-14

Top returnees: F Sydney Spragg, G Megan Loveberry, F Haley Killingbeck

Season outlook: Three starters return in Spragg, Loveberry and Killingbeck to give first-year coach Steve Mix a nucleus to build around. Spragg was the team’s leading scorer with a 10.9 average, while Loveberry averaged 9.5 and Killingbeck, 6-8. The Thunder were outrebounded by nearly nine per game last season, but those three combined for 13 boards, which should help this season. Also coming back for Trine are Megan Engle and Lauren Tait.
