Meth labs seized; 2 arrested

An anonymous tip led police to two meth labs and a stolen handgun early Thursday at a northeast Indiana motel, officials said.

Justin Michael Lewallen, 30, of North Webster, and Chelsea Rashell Wools, 18, of Syracuse, had outstanding warrants and were preliminarily charged with methamphetamine production and possession, according to a statement issued by the Warsaw Police Department.

It said officers were alerted there was drug activity in their room at The Economy Inn, 3521 Lake City Highway, and the tipster said the occupants were wanted on the warrants.

The police said a search yielded the meth labs, finished meth, items commonly used to make meth, other illegal drugs and the gun.

The Indiana State Police cleanup team was called in to deal with the hazardous materials.
