Purdue has eight returning players, including four starters. The Boilermakers went 25-9 last season and captured the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament championship.
Purdue is ranked No. 21 in The Associated Press preseason poll. The Boilermakers were picked to finish third in the Big Ten preseason coaches poll.
Junior guard Courtney Moses was named to Preseason All-Big Ten by the coaches. She is the first Boilermaker to earn preseason conference accolades since Brittany Rayburn in 2010.
Drey Mingo returns after missing all of last season with a knee injury. Mingo gained a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA.
Purdue’s roster includes Liza Clemons, who played at Elmhurst and Snider. Clemons averaged 1.2 points and 0.7 rebounds during her freshman season.

Moses, Jr., G: The 5-foot-6 Moses averaged 10.8 points. She led the Big Ten with a 90.7 free-throw percentage.
Mingo, Sr., F: The 6-2 Mingo returns after missing all of last season with a knee injury. She averaged 12 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2010-11.
K.K. Houser, Jr., G: The 5-6 Houser was an honorable mention All-Big Ten pick last year. She averaged 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

Big loss: The Boilermakers have to make up for the loss of Brittany Rayburn, who led the team in scoring (14.8 points per game) last season.
Injury alert: Purdue has players coming off of injuries, including Mingo and Clemons.

Scoring: Coach Sharon Versyp said Purdue worked on its shooting in the offseason, emphasizing taking good shots. The Boilermakers finished seventh in the Big Ten in scoring offense last season and eighth in field goal percentage.
