Indiana opens season with big win

Cody Zeller and Christian Watford both recorded double-doubles as No. 1 Indiana opened the season with a 97-54 victory against Bryant Friday at Assembly Hall.

Zeller had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Watford finished with 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

Freshman guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell had an impressive debut, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

Remy Abell and Jeremy Hollowell each had 12 points. Will Sheehey added 10 points.

Bryant led 15-14 with 11:37 to go in the first half. The Hoosiers then went on an 11-1 run and never looked back.

IU shot 55.6 percent from the floor. Bryant shot 32.3 percent. The Bulldogs had 18 turnovers.

Indiana returns to action Monday at home against North Dakota State.
