ARCHIVE RECEIVES PAPERS: The Northeast Indiana Diversity Library’s archives have received the papers of the late Larry Life, former head of the theater department of IPFW.

ARTISTS SOUGHT: The American Heart Association and Glo magazine are hosting a “Go Red For Women” contest to design the magazine’s February 2013 cover. Entries must be received by Jan. 3. To submit an entry, artists may email an attachment to rwhirledge@ the-papers. com.


•Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, will offer “Photography Workshop, Introduction to Post Processing” at 4 p.m. Saturday and “Totally Terrific Tuesdays, Jewelry Making” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Young Adults’ Services.

•Kendallville Public Library, Kendallville, has moved its “Forever Young Adult Book Club” online. A discussion of books will be available at the club’s Facebook page at www. facebook. com/foreveryoungkpl.

FUNDRAISER: Fort Wayne Ballet and Groupon Grassroots have launched a campaign to host 150 Title 1 students for a performance of either “The Nutcracker” or “Cinderella.” Groupon subscribers can pledge support through Sunday for the In-Theatre Campaign in increments of $4 with each gift funding attendance for a youth. JOHNSON EXHIBIT: Justin Johnson, gallery director for the School of Creative Arts at the University of Saint Francis, will have works on display through Nov. 30 at the Defiance College Women’s Commission Gallery in Defiance.


•Anna Reinhold, a senior at Angola High School, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Roanoke Arts Council.

•The Roanoke Arts Council has named the following as Plein Aire winners from Roanoke Elementary School: Dairian Goelz, Carissa Beck, Luke Hentz, Hanna Whitney, Sam Hentz, Dierra Coleman, Garrett Schwieterman, Shannon Sorg, Abi Dominquez, Dennis Hettler, Dane Curtis and Stacey Lee Simpson. Honorable mentions went to Ashlynn Foster, Rebecca Sorenson, Brade Henline and Jay Dee Downam. Best in class ribbons were awarded to the following artists in the Art Marketplace: Joseph Pelka, Karen Meyer, Susan Karczewski, Tammy Jo Hyndman, Jeremy Ashcraft, Alan Longroy, Sue Parrish and Bryan Griese. Plein Aire paint-out winners were Diana Fair, first place; Gwen Gutwein, second place; and Deanna Harvey, third place.
