FUNDRAISER: Fort Wayne Ballet and Groupon Grassroots have launched a campaign to host 150 Title 1 students for a performance of either The Nutcracker or Cinderella. Groupon subscribers can pledge support through Sunday for the In-Theatre Campaign in increments of $4 with each gift funding attendance for a youth. Anna Reinhold, a senior at Angola High School, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Roanoke Arts Council.
The Roanoke Arts Council has named the following as Plein Aire winners from Roanoke Elementary School: Dairian Goelz, Carissa Beck, Luke Hentz, Hanna Whitney, Sam Hentz, Dierra Coleman, Garrett Schwieterman, Shannon Sorg, Abi Dominquez, Dennis Hettler, Dane Curtis and Stacey Lee Simpson. Honorable mentions went to Ashlynn Foster, Rebecca Sorenson, Brade Henline and Jay Dee Downam. Best in class ribbons were awarded to the following artists in the Art Marketplace: Joseph Pelka, Karen Meyer, Susan Karczewski, Tammy Jo Hyndman, Jeremy Ashcraft, Alan Longroy, Sue Parrish and Bryan Griese.
