Women's volleyball team loses to IUPUI

If the women's volleyball team wants revenge on IUPUI, it might not have to wait long.

In a match to determine the Summit League regular-season champion, IUPUI defeated IPFW 3-2 on Saturday in Indianapolis. Set scores were 25-19. 18-25, 17-25, 25-16 and 16-14.

That means IUPUI (21-9, 13-3) will be the No. 1 seed at the Summit League championships to be played Friday and Saturday in Fargo, N.D., and IPFW (23-6, 12-4) will be the No. 2 seed. Should both win their Friday matches, they will meet again for the tournament title Saturday.

Emily Spencer led IPFW with 26 kills and 14 digs against the Jaguars. Hailie Ripley had 16 kills, and Jessie Manwaring had 10.

Steve Warden blogs all things IPFW.
