Lutheran Hospital will dedicate its Remembrance Tree, which displays memorial ornaments of loved ones, Nov. 17. The public is invited to put a personalized ornament on the tree from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fort Wayne International Airport and the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, along with WAJI, 95.1, is conducting its Home for the Holidays contest. Cause for Paws, a group created by high school students, will sell I have HOPE do you? wristbands to help raise money for Hope for Animals. The wristbands will be sold at Hope for Animals annual Holiday Pictures with a Purpose 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at 1333 Maycrest Drive. The group hopes to raise $500.
Tuthill Corp. in Fort Wayne has shipped AC and DC fuel transfer pumps and hand pumps to the East Coast to help in Superstorm Sandy relief. In addition, the company will make a donation to the American Red Cross to support the victims.
The Allen County 4-H Clubs recognized the following volunteers for 25 or more years of service: Frank Ebetino of Fort Wayne, 25 years; Dale Jackson of Fort Wayne and Kristine McKay of Woodburn, 30 years; and Cindy Berning of Hoagland, 40 years.
In addition, the club elected the following officers and board members: Trent Kleine, president; Roger Clark, vice president; Marlene Redding, secretary; Lee Bradtmueller, treasurer; Fred Hammond, Shawn Parker, Mike Shirey and Kim Smith.
