Zeller, Abell lead IU to win

BLOOMINGTON -- Cody Zeller had 22 points and nine rebounds as No. 1 Indiana defeated North Dakota State 87-61 in a Bloomington Regional of the Legends Classic Monday at Assembly Hall.

Guard Remy Abell gave the team a lift off the bench. The sophomore scored a career-high 14 points to help the Hoosiers improve to 2-0.

Jeremy Hollowell also scored 14 points. Jordan Hulls made three three-pointers and finished with 11 points. Victor Oladipo had seven points, eight rebounds and five assists.

North Dakota State got within 44-35 with 16:32 to go in the second half. The Hoosiers responded with a 12-3 run. Able scored the final three points of the stretch.

IU returns to action Thursday against Sam Houston State at Assembly Hall.
