Pot-growing operation seized at lake home

A man and woman living at Syracuse Lake are accused of cultivating pot under lights in several rooms, officials said.

Paula Niles, 53, and Lester Niles, 60, are facing charges of growing more than 30 grams of marijuana at their home in the 300 block of Edgewater Drive in Syracuse, according to a written statement issued by the Syracuse Police Department.

It said officers found the plants growing in one bedroom and a closet inside another bedroom, as well as glass jars containing pot.
