Notre Dame receiver John Goodman, a Bishop Dwenger graduate, could be more of a factor in his final home game than he has been for most the season.

The Irish lost receiver DaVaris Daniels to a broken clavicle, and coach Brian Kelly said Goodman will a receiver that No. 3 Notre Dame (10-0) will count on to pick up the slack against Wake Forest (5-5) on Saturday.

"He'll get a chance now to play a little bit more in the absence of Double D," Kelly said of Goodman, who has four receptions for 77 yards with two touchdowns this year.

"Of course, Danny Smith will play a lot more in that respect. We'll probably get T.J. (Jones) moved around a little bit, and the three of them will make up for the loss of DaVaris."

Daniels caught 25 passes for 375 yards this season, but he was emerging as more of a threat before he got injured against Boston College. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior had seven catches for 86 yards in the Irish's 29-26 triple-overtime win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 3 and had two catches for 22 yards against Boston College in last Saturday's 21-6 win..

Smith has six receptions for 37 yards.

Jones is tied with tight end Tyler Eifert, another Dwenger product, for the team's lead in receptions with 34 and is second in receiving yards with 422. He also has three touchdowns.

"We use him in multiple positions, he'll pick up for the loss of DD, too, because we can move Danny to the field, we can move TJ to the boundary," Kelly said. "So we can flip them around because the offense is so interchangeable. So it just won't be one guy lining up at Daniels' position. You'll have two or three different guys."

Kelly also said freshman Chris Brown, who has one catch for 50 yards this year, could also be used more on Saturday.

"He'll definitely get some more reps and play that position as well," Kelly said.
