IPFW withstood a Rochester challenge midway through the second half en route to a 73-56 victory Tuesday at Memorial Coliseum.
It was the first win of the season for IPFW, which opened its season with a loss at Auburn last Saturday.
Senior Frank Gaines led IPFW with 24 points, with 12 coming in each half. Senior Mario Hines added 17, and Luis Jacobo had 15.
Rochester, which trailed 42-26 at the half, got within 57-49, but IPFW took off on a 13-4 run to go ahead 70-53.
