Coach Al Sims and captain Colin Chaulk retired, and now so has the goaltender who backstopped them to four championships between 2008 and 2012.The Komets are 7-3-1, but it's a little hard to figure out just how good they are because of the strength of schedule and all the injuries.

Interesting stat on Thomas Beauregard: He's got four goals in five games with the Komets, who have won four of those games.
Before his arrival, the Komets averaged 2.16 goals per game. Since he joined the club, the Komets have averaged 4.2, and they've done it with the lineup decimated by injuries.
