As youre planning the Thanksgiving food menu, Cap n Cork wants to be sure the liquor menu is just as good and oh-so-perfectly paired. It suggests the following four beverages to best match your themes.
Biltmore Reserve Chardonnay – This oaky wine gives off lemon, pear and apple aromas. Chardonnays pair well with poultry, pork, seafood or anything with a heavy cream or butter base.
Conundrum California White Wine – This wine is a blend of a variety of other white wines: Chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, muscat canelli, viognier and semillion. The wine is sweet with honeysuckle aromas mixed with some peach, vanilla, melon, pineapple and pear. Sweet white wines pair well with prosciutto, smoked fish, fresh fruit, hard cow and sheep cheeses and chicken salad.
Meiomi Pinot Noir – This pinot noir mixes blackberry and cola aromas with layers of cherry, vanilla and oak. The wine pairs well with shellfish, turkey, chicken, mushrooms and pork.
Founders Breakfast Stout – This sweet stout does double-duty as a dessert beer. It has a thick, chocolaty body and is brewed with coffee, so its caffeinated. Sweet stouts pair well with chocolate and heavy desserts.
