Verbatim: Early morning fire damages Twin Oaks Apartments

From a report received Thursday morning: The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire at 2708 Paulding Road E, shortly after midnight Thursday.

Upon arrival crews saw fire through the roof of the apartment complex. Because of the active fire and the structure type, an additional alarm/response was called.

Crews on scene made an aggressive interior attack.

While the fire was contained and did not spread to all sixteen units in the apartment building, crews did evacuate the entire structure.

At this time we are unable to provide an exact number of residents affected.

Red Cross was called to assist those displaced.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
