A Fort Wayne man has been charged with theft after he stuffed a variety of items into his pockets and walked past the cash registers at a local Kroger supermarket, according to court records.
Paul Freeman, who also goes by the name Jeremy Gibson, was charged Wednesday with felony theft.
Freeman, 34, of the 1000 block of Huffman Street, entered a Fort Wayne Kroger on Nov. 7 and filled his pockets with cheese, a DVD, Band-Aids, Sharpie markers and other small items and then exited the store.
Shortly thereafter, Freeman was apprehended by a security guard and was asked to empty his pockets, court records said.
He was then taken into custody by a Fort Wayne police officer.
