Emergency workers responded Friday to a head-on crash on Indiana 15 near Leesburg.

2 hurt in head-on Indiana 15 crash

Two people were hurt Friday in a head-on crash on Indiana 15 south of Leesburg, the Kosciusko County FACT/crash investigation team said tonight.

County sheriff's deputies and emergency workers responded shortly before noon to a crash north of Levi Lee Road, the team said in a statement.

The statement said firefighters from Leesburg/Plain Township and Warsaw/Wayne Territory fire departments extricated the drivers, who were airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Investigators determined that a southbound Ford Edge driven by Jennifer M. Gholson, 41, of Warsaw, crossed the center line, striking a northbound GMC truck driven by Sam E. Crace, 41, of Roann.

Crace was reported to have extensive lower-extremity injuries, while Gholson was reported to have serious internal injuries, the statement said.

It said police don't know why Gholson crossed the center line, and the crash remains under investigation pending legal blood results as required by state law.
