Police chase ends in meth busts

Two Noble County men were arrested late Thursday, accused of making meth and fleeing police.

The county sheriff’s department reported that officers tried to stop a GMC Sierra pickup truck in Cromwell shortly before midnight because of a tip that there was an outstanding warrant for a passenger.

Instead of stopping, the truck took off to the Stone Ridge Estates Mobile Home Park in the 3700 section of North 900 West, where the passenger got out and ran, according to a written statement issued by the department.

It said that Cory T. Gibson, 21, of Cromwell, was caught with an active meth lab and was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of meth, resisting law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Shelby Jacobs Jr., 36, of Cromwell, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, the statement said.

The Cromwell Town Marshall’s office and the Indiana State Police meth lab cleanup team assisted at the scene.
