No injuries in fire at Twin Oaks

A Fort Wayne apartment fire that began early Thursday took city fire crews more than an hour to extinguish.

According to the Fort Wayne Fire Department, the blaze was in the attic area of Twin Oaks Apartments, 2708 E. Paulding Road.

Crews responded to the fire at 12:21 a.m. and were able to keep the fire from spreading to all 16 units in the two-story apartment building. Heavy fire, water and smoke damage was reported.

All apartments in the building were evacuated, and the Red Cross was called to assist residents, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
