Lifetree Cafe will have the discussion Preparing for the Worst: How to Survive a Catastrophe from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ossian Presbyterian Church, 123 S. Jefferson St., Ossian.
Congregation Achduth Vesholom, 5200 Old Mill Road, is having Its About More than Marriage: Examining HJR-6 through Faith & Politics from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2. The discussion about marriage equality will feature speakers, breakout sessions, a panel discussion and more. Registration is due Nov. 26. Cost is $12 or $5 for students. service will be at noon today at the Dug Out Bar, 3401 Fairfield Ave. The service is for 41-year-old Reynaldo Morales, who was stabbed at the bar Nov. 4.

Thanksgiving dinners
New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Highway East, New Haven, will host a Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church, 1232 Crescent Ave., will host a Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Highway East, will have a ham and turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 and free for those 4 and younger. The event will also feature a raffle, silent auction, crafts and more.
Haven Missionary Christian Church, 845 W. Creighton Ave., will host a community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Meals can be delivered to those who are home-bound and in nursing homes. To receive delivery, call 744-9190 before 10 a.m. Thursday.
