Leo girl nets 42 points in home rout

– Taylor Seiss scored a school-record 42 points to lead Leo to a 76-41 victory over New Haven at the Lions’ gym.

The 5-foot-6 senior guard hit 15 of 20 shots from the floor, including 8 of 12 from three-point range. She also went 4 for 4 from the free-throw line.

The Lions (1-1) built a 32-22 halftime lead but erupted for 34 third-quarter points to take a 66-30 lead going into the final period.

Keanna Gary added 20 points for Leo.

SOUTH SIDE 81, CARROLL 33: Four players scored in double figures, and the visiting Archers led 19-0 after the first quarter.

EAST NOBLE 62, NORTH SIDE 35: Jenna Yates scored 17 points as the host Knights overcame a 13-9 deficit after the first quarter.

ANGOLA 68, EASTSIDE 22: Claire Grubb and Rachel Rinehart scored 21 points each for the host Hornets.

FREMONT 50, CENTRAL NOBLE 27: Miranda White had 15 points for the host Eagles.

NORWELL 71, BLUFFTON 38: Hanna Smith had 14 points and Paige Frisch had 13 for the visiting Knights, who outscored the Tigers 36-15 in the second half.

FAIRFIELD 49, CHURUBUSCO 27: In Churubusco’s home loss, Montana Martin scored 10 for the Eagles.

WEST NOBLE 47, HAMILTON 39: Kelsie Peterson’s 15 points, 14 from Haley Richardson and 13 from Ashley Shepherd led the host Chargers.

DEKALB 49, GARRETT 47: Brooke Leins had 16 points for the visiting Barons.

WARSAW 39, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 26: The host Tigers outscored the Vikings 20-3 in the third quarter to pull away. Nicki Grose led Warsaw with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 42, ADAMS CENTRAL 33: Brittney Chalfant had 22 points for the host Braves.
