FORT WAYNE – The defending Class A state champion Canterbury girls basketball team picked up a pair of wins at the Kilmer Classic on Saturday at Snider.
The Class A top-ranked Cavaliers beat Snider 72-67 and Northrop 80-42.
Against the Panthers, Darby Maggard led the Cavs with 26 points, while Bailey Farley and Kindell Fincher each had 16 points, along with 10 rebounds. Aaliyah Gaines had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Snider got 16 points and 12 rebounds from Destiny Parker.
Against the Bruins, Farley scored 23 points, and Fincher had 18, while Maggard added 16 points and four assists.
Snider beat Wabash 73-34 earlier in the day. Meredith Shipman had 17 points, Deja Wimby added 15 points and Karrina Smith 12.
Also, Wabash beat Northrop 49-40.
BISHOP LUERS 74, BREBUEF 45: Tashayla Surtoris had 14 points, while Addie Reimbold and Allison Butler each scored 12 points for the host Knights.
BISHOP DWENGER 50, NEW HAVEN 43: Alyssa Gibson had 16 points, while Ally Christman added 14 for the host Saints.
NORWELL 59, HUNTINGTON NORTH 35: Carlee Harnish scored 20 points to lead the host Knights. Taylor Wilson added 13 points.
MARION 43, COLUMBIA CITY 40: The host Eagles outscored the Giants 14-9 in the fourth, but it wasnt enough. Emily Whiteleather had 10 points and 15 rebounds for Columbia City.
BLUFFTON INVITATIONAL: Fremont went 4-0 to win the tournament title.
Going 4-0 for the Eagles were Hunter Leskoyak (120), Tanner Frye (126), Brad Owen (152), Ricky Short (160), Brady Elliott (182), Kyle Barry (195) and Adam Dossett (220).
WARSAW INVITATIONAL: Crown Point won the team title with a 4-0 record. DeKalb went 3-1.
Area wrestlers winning weight classes were: Warsaws Luis Munoz (120), DeKalbs Zach Krumlauf (132) and Eastsides Terry Nickolson (182) and Matt Beard (285).
